Rule 9

BUYER BEWARE

a. The Seller is responsible for describing the item up for auction accurately and completely and making themselves available to answer questions about the item if able. Mistakes or inaccurate descriptions will result in the Bidder having the right to decline the item. Posting inaccurate descriptions or misrepresenting items may result in removal from the groups if complaints are received.

b. The Bidder is responsible for asking any questions about the item, researching the item, and ensuring the item is appropriate for their intended use before placing a bid. Once a bid is placed the Bidder is obligated to pay that amount (if they win the auction).

c. The Bidder is responsible for examining the item at pickup before paying the Seller. It is best practice to always try, test, and examine the item before paying. If the item is not as described or does not work then do not pay the Seller. If the Seller does not allow you to properly examine the item or tries to rush you, do not pay the Seller. Leave the item and report the issue to Admin.

d. When buying a mobile phone or tablet, ask for the IMEI number and ask if the device is locked to a carrier. Check with your service provider to ensure the device will work on your network by providing them the IMEI number.

e. When buying an Apple device, check to ensure the device is not “iCloud Locked”. If it is, ask the Seller for the password and ensure it works. If the Seller is not able to unlock the device, do not buy the device. Please report the incident to an Admin.

f. Always check to see if any items have a recall that could effect the use of the item, or compromise the safety of anyone in your family who might use the item.
